  • What is Taj Public Service Welfare Trust?
    The Taj Public Service Welfare Trust is a Trust registered as a Public Charitable Trust under the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950 and the Registration No. is E-25354. It represents the Taj’s commitment to aid victims of terror, natural calamities and other tragic events that inflict damage to life and property.
  • When was the Taj Public Service Welfare Trust set-up and why?
    The unprecedented attack on Mumbai between November 26 to 29, 2008 left many people from the security forces, the Police, Fire Service, Hotel employees, guests of the Taj and general public killed or wounded. In the aftermath of this terror attack, the Taj Group withnessed an outpouring of emotional support from well wishers in Indian and across the globe, to offer relief for those affected by the attack. In response to this, the Taj Group has set-up a Public Service Welfare Trust.
  • What is the Trust’s Mission?
    The Taj Public Service Welfare Trust arose from tragedy with the purpose of providing hope and healing to victims of terror, war, natural disasters and other events that disrupt life.
  • What are the objectives of the Trust?
    The Trust aims to provide financial/ medical/ educational/ general aid and relief. It seeks to enhance the quality of systemic development of disaster prevention and preparedness.
Financial Assistance
The Trust will provide monthly sustenance or loans or set up endowments to relieve economic and social hardships, and enable to rebuild the life of the beneficiary.
Medical Assistance
The Trust will provide financial help for medical treatment, counselling, guidance, and aid to restore physical and emotional health of the beneficiary.
Educational Assistance
The Trust will provide tuition fees, and or all expenses related to education.
General Assistance
The Trust will make universal provisions for the general welfare of its beneficiaries, providing any aid or assistance, financial or otherwise, that the beneficiaries may need to get back and live a normal life.
Systemic Development
The Trust will support various stakeholders to enhance the quality of their disaster prevention and management preparedness.
  • Who can apply for assistance from the Trust?
    Any Indian Citizen, who have suffered bodily injury due to terror attack, war, bomb blasts and / or natural disaster in India can apply for assistance to the Trust.
  • How do I apply for assistance?
    Download the Form of Application from the website and fill up the details and send the same to the Trust Office within two months of the disaster. Please mention the type of disaster and extent of loss suffered while applying to the Trust. After appraisal, the Trust shall revert with its decision. Please note that the Trust is a professionally run organization and not all applications will receive positive response from the Trust.
  • How can I contribute to the Trust?
    Please download, print, complete and send the Form of Contribution along with the cheque drawn in favour of Taj Public Service Welfare Trust and dispatched to Mandlik House, 2nd floor, 1 Mandlik Road, Colaba, Mumbai - 400 001. Kindly mention whether you are contributing to the corpus or to a specific cause.
